Listening comprehensions: Education



1- INTRODUCTION:
The beginning of the story, possibly explaining its origin or giving a general idea of what is to follow
2- BACKGROUND:
A description of the time and place where the story is set or the main character/s.
3- PROBLEM:
A complication or dilemma that affects the main character or characters.
4- RESOLUTION:
The solution of the dilemma or complication.
5- COMMENT: The moral of the story or an explanation of its implications.
Some narrative strategies you may use to be creative when writing a mystery story:


  • Start in the middle of the story,
  • Refer to previous events.
  • Set the story in a time and place background.
  • Give details about the climax of the story.
  • Conclude with the solution of the problem and give an explanation.
